Job summary

Sitreps 2 Steercos is seeking the founding marketing hire to own the full marketing function from day one and grow into leadership as the team scales. You will work directly with the founders and executive team to shape public presence in a fast-moving defense-tech landscape and build systems to support Series B growth.

You will own social media, content, campaigns, vendor management, collateral, and foundational marketing tech while working closely with engineering and product.

Qualifications

• 3–6+ years of marketing experience, owning a function or major workstream.
• Startup experience, ideally at founding marketing hire stage.
• Comfort with minimal structure and building processes.
• Strong written and visual eye; ability to brief and manage outside vendors.
• Experience running inbound (content, SEO, campaigns) and outbound (ABM, events) marketing.
• Client-facing and comfortable representing the company at events.
• Experience in defense/aerospace or dual-use tech is a strong plus.
• Willing to be based in Herndon, VA and travel ~20%.

Responsibilities

• Own Aventra's social media presence and brand voice across platforms.
• Lead content generation from concept to production with outside resources.
• Plan, execute, and track inbound/outbound marketing campaigns.
• Maintain a social/content calendar aligned to milestones, funding announcements, and events.
• Source, hire, and manage photographers and video vendors/contractors.
• Develop product collateral with engineering and product teams (data sheets, web content, trade show materials).
• Provide client/partner marketing support at conferences, demos, and events.
• Build foundational marketing systems (CRM/marketing automation, brand guidelines, content workflows).
