Job summary

Hanwha Q CELLS America Inc. is seeking a founding commissioning leader to build its BESS Commissioning and Field Service organization. The role starts in Q1 2027 with order intake and targets H2 2028 installation projects, defining standards, recruiting the team, and leading hands-on field commissioning.

The position requires a Bachelor's in EE, 7+ years in BESS commissioning, and travel nationwide (50%+). Compensation varies by location and experience, with multiple zone salary ranges described.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• 7+ years of BESS or energy storage system commissioning experience required.
• Hands-on commissioning experience with PCS/inverters (1500V DC/MV AC), BMS, and EMS/SCADA integration.
• Field experience with IEEE 1547, UL1741 SA/SB, and UL9540 compliance testing.
• NFPA 70E electrical safety and OSHA 30 certifications preferred.
• Experience building teams and leading field organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and standardize BESS commissioning procedures: FAT, SAT, grid interconnection, and performance testing.
• Recruit and build teams: Field Commissioning Engineers, Customer Service & Maintenance, O&M/Remote Monitoring.
• Lead hands-on commissioning of BESS systems: PCS, BMS, EMS/SCADA integration.
• Manage customer handover, test reporting, and punch list resolution.
• Establish site safety protocols: OSHA/NFPA 70E, PTW procedures.
• Develop and deliver customer operations training programs.
• Build remote monitoring, fault diagnostics, and corrective maintenance processes.
