Job summary

Onto Innovation is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to spearhead the AI Innovation Team, architect and deliver AI-enabled solutions for semiconductor equipment operations. You will lead a team of AI/ML engineers and work with design, process, and applications teams to turn complex workflows into scalable AI systems.

You will guide ML development from prototyping to deployment, focusing on yield improvement, tool uptime, and safe integration into production environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of ML/AI experience in industry
• 3+ years in technical leadership or people leadership
• Strong Python development skills
• Experience with ML systems architecture and production deployment
• Experience with MLOps stacks (containers, CI/CD, model registries)

Responsibilities

• Define the AI strategy and architecture for integrating ML into engineering and manufacturing processes
• Lead and mentor a team of AI/ML engineers and oversee multiple projects
• Architect, prototype, and productionize AI solutions to improve yields and reduce downtime
• Deliver AI-powered products into production and measure impact
• Build scalable ML data pipelines for ingestion, labeling, storage, and retrieval
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy AI safely and securely
