Job summary

DeKalb Brilliance Academy in Decatur, GA, seeks Assistant Teachers to lead rigorous, culturally responsive instruction for K–2 and help refine our curriculum and culture. You will report to the K-2 Department Chair and collaborate with grade-level teams to plan units and support student growth through data-informed instruction and ongoing coaching.

Qualifications

• Valid Georgia clearance and paraprofessional certification required.
• Minimum two years teaching experience preferred (K-2 and/or reading instruction with emphasis on science of reading/phonics).
• Willingness/eligibility to pursue teaching certification if not already certified.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role (standing, walking, lifting up to 40lbs).

Responsibilities

• Facilitate rigorous, culturally responsive instruction across core subjects, SEL, and project-based learning.
• Collaborate with grade-level and content teams to plan units and analyze assessments.
• Communicate with families monthly about student progress (phone, email, Dojo).
• Enact restorative approaches to build community and uphold school values.
• Participate in professional learning, coaching, and school-wide initiatives.
