Job summary

DeKalb Brilliance Academy seeks Assistant Teachers to lead classrooms, design rigorous, culturally responsive instruction, and help shape systems, curriculum, and culture at our growing founding school.

Assistant Teachers report to the K-2 Department Chair with support from the Assistant Principal, collaborating with grade-level and content teams to refine instruction and student work. This role requires strong instructional skill and a growth mindset.

Qualifications

• Georgia clearance and paraprofessional certification required.
• Minimum two years teaching experience strongly preferred (K-2 reading instruction with focus on science of reading/phonics).
• Willingness to pursue teaching certification if not currently certified.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role (standing/walking, lifting up to 40lbs).

Responsibilities

• Facilitate rigorous, culturally responsive instruction across core subjects, SEL, and project-based learning.
• Collaborate with grade-level/content teams to plan units and analyze assessments and student work.
• Communicate with families monthly about student progress and support restorative practices.
• Participate in professional learning, coaching, and school-wide initiatives.
