Job description

About Sakura Health

Sakura Health builds AI agents that run front- and back-office operations for specialty practices. A referral arrives, an agent processes it; a payer needs a call, an agent makes it. Our agents work inside existing EHRs, phone systems, fax queues, and payer portals so staff can review completed work and spend more time on patients.

Our agents are running in production inside live practices across senior care, gastroenterology, and cardiology, with a growing set of customer deployments and channel partnerships underway. We are now building the commercial motion to scale them. We raised our seed round from Lightspeed, alongside angels from OpenAI, Sierra, Iterative Health, and Innovaccer.

The team
  • Manish Singh, CEO: MIT PhD in AI and healthcare finance; former quant researcher at Point72/Cubist and WorldQuant; IIT Delhi.

  • Shashanka Rao, COO: Harvard MBA; led BizOps and GTM at Apollo.io; ex-McKinsey; IIT Madras.

  • Kapil Vaidya, CTO: MIT PhD in ML and data systems; early engineer at Parallel Web Systems; IIT Bombay.

The role

You will be Sakura’s first GTM lead, working alongside the founders to build a repeatable sales motion. You will build on our active customer deployments and practice relationships, learn which workflows create urgency, and help establish pricing and a sales process that future hires can repeat. This is an opportunity to shape how Sakura sells from the beginning.

You will sell to specialty practices, physician groups, and management services organizations (MSOs). A practice administrator may champion the workflow while a physician owner or finance leader approves the investment. Winning means understanding the operation, proving value, and bringing the whole buying group along.

What you will own
  • Create pipeline. Open accounts through targeted outbound, your network, conferences, referrals, and partners. Own the next step from first contact through signed contract.

  • Build the business case. Investigate issues such as an authorization backlog or lost referrals. Quantify staff time, revenue impact, and patient access, then connect the right workflow to a focused demo.

  • Turn deployments into long-term contracts. Agree on scope, baseline, success criteria, decision makers, and a timeline before launch. Keep the customer engaged and translate results into expanded, long-term agreements.

  • Move complex deals forward. Build relationships across physicians, operations, finance, IT, and compliance. Coordinate security review, procurement, negotiation, and contracting with clear ownership.

  • Build a repeatable sales process. Keep a credible forecast, document objections and successful approaches, refine pricing and targeting with the founders, and bring customer insights to Product and Engineering.

About you

Direct experience selling technology to healthcare providers is a core requirement. You should understand how these organizations buy and be able to earn credibility with both the people doing the work and the people approving the investment.

  • 5+ years in healthcare technology sales, including direct sales to physician groups, specialty practices, MSOs, ambulatory groups, or other provider organizations.

  • A proven record of owning the full sales cycle and meeting or exceeding quota. You can explain your targets, attainment, average contract value, sales cycle, and what drove your wins and losses.

  • Experience generating your own pipeline. You have opened accounts from scratch and can show how outbound, relationships, or events became closed revenue.

  • Strong consultative selling skills. You can learn an operational workflow, ask useful follow‑up questions, quantify the cost of the problem, and make a clear case for change.

  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders, evaluations, procurement, security reviews, and contracting without losing the customer’s momentum.

  • Comfort working at an early‑stage company where you help define the process. You take ownership, communicate clearly, and share what you learn.

  • Willingness to travel roughly one week a month for conferences and customer visits.

Especially relevant backgrounds include: RCM, EHRs, practice management, patient access, prior authorization, referrals, patient communications, and healthcare workflow automation. Existing provider relationships or experience building a company’s first sales motion are valuable.

What success looks like
  • First 30 days: Understand our workflows and buyer, shadow customer calls, and build a prioritized account plan with the founders.

  • By 90 days: Run prospecting, discovery, demos, and deployment planning independently, with a qualified pipeline and clear next steps on each active deal.

  • Within 9 to 12 months: Help establish a repeatable motion in specialty practices, expand customer deployments into long‑term contracts, and document what works so future sellers can build on it.

Early success means creating qualified pipeline, advancing real buying decisions, and expanding the practices we serve into long‑term contracts. We will use what we learn about deal sizes and sales cycles to set realistic revenue expectations together.

Compensation and benefits

Competitive base salary and commission, with potential equity participation. Compensation, benefits, and any equity component will be discussed during the hiring process, based on your experience and the scope of the role.
