Job summary

Aerovy Mobility, Inc. is seeking a Founding Forward Deployed Engineer to own technical delivery of platform integrations for enterprise OEM customers. You’ll closely collaborate with customer IT, engineering, and service teams to onboard machines, firmware, and backend systems into the Aerovy cloud.

You will design, implement, and reuse integration patterns, build core platform components, and bootstrap the FDE organization. Hybrid role in Seattle with substantial travel.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in CS or engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in software engineering with customer-facing delivery.
• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript and one of C# or Java.
• Strong networking and IoT fundamentals (TCP/IP, MQTT, REST).
• Experience translating customer requirements into engineering work.
• Clear written and verbal communication; willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of customer implementations.
• Turn customer work into reusable platform components and patterns.
• Onboard and integrate OEM hardware/firmware into Aerovy cloud.
• Design ingestion pipelines for customer data onto the platform.
• Lead technical discovery, propose strategies, unblock dependencies.
• Partner with Customer Success on project plans and manage workstreams.
• Support post-implementation monitoring and validation.
• Translate customer needs into engineering requirements for the platform.
• Build repeatable Forward Deployed workflows and processes.
• Hire and lead junior forward deployed engineers as the team grows.
