Job summary

Success Matcher Recruitment partners with an early-stage maritime and space company in St. Petersburg, FL seeking a hands-on accounting leader to structure growth. You will own accounting operations and implement scalable processes to support rapid expansion.

The role offers founding finance leadership, potential equity, and a path to Head of Finance as the company scales in capital-heavy markets.

Qualifications

6+ years of experience as a Controller, Accounting Manager or Head of Finance.
Big Four background and an active CPA.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Hands-on accounting skills, including month-end close, financial reporting and cash forecasting.
Builder mindset: ability to create process, structure and discipline.
Bonus: startup experience or capital-intensive industries (aerospace, defense, maritime, energy, construction or manufacturing).

Responsibilities

AP/AR on large capital-project transactions, coordinating with operations during first build.
Oversee outsourced bookkeeper and month-end close.
Cash flow management, budgeting, variance analysis, and board reporting.
Upgrade finance stack and connect it to operational systems.
Hire and manage first AP/AR team member within a quarter or two.
