Job summary

Poseidon Aerospace is seeking a Head of Finance to own the finance function and shape funding and scaling strategies for a capital-intensive aerospace startup. You will lead accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax, and financial operations while partnering with leadership on planning and capital allocation.

This hands-on role requires five-plus years of finance leadership in a high-growth tech/industrial environment, with strong skills in strategic planning, external negotiations, and building robust

Qualifications

• At least five years in finance leadership roles.
• Experience leading finance at early-stage, high-growth tech/industrial/R&D companies.
• Hands-on accounting, FP&A, treasury, and operational finance experience.
• Experience evaluating or securing loans, equipment financing, leases, or other capital.
• Ability to build financial systems and processes from the ground up.
• Balance strategic planning with external negotiations and execution.
• Strong analytical, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, tax, treasury, procurement, and cash management.
• Provide leadership with clear view of performance, liquidity, runway, and capital needs.
• Develop Poseidon’s capital strategy across equity, loans, credit facilities, equipment financing, and leases.
• Lead financing processes and manage relationships with banks, lenders, and leasing providers.
• Evaluate major equipment purchases and investments based on return, cash flow, risk, and financing options.
• Build scalable financial systems, controls, and processes.
• Support fundraising, investor reporting, board materials, audits, and financial diligence.
• Manage external accounting, tax, audit, and financial partners.
