Job summary

The National Commercialization and Translation Institute (NCTI) is a NSF-funded initiative led by the University of Central Florida. It seeks an accomplished executive to serve as the founding Executive Director to build and lead a new national center focused on turning breakthrough ideas into commercial success.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Executive Director will establish the organization's infrastructure, recruit staff, cultivate strategic partnerships, and drive execution of

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years in leadership.
• Preferred qualifications include an MBA or doctorate and demonstrated success standing up new programs or organizations.
• Experience administering milestone-based or tranche-based funding governance with auditable decision processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the institute including facilities, staffing, policies, and milestones.
• Supervise professional staff across multiple directorates and ensure coordinated delivery of activities.
• Chair review committees, oversee funding governance, and document decisions as study data.
• Support NSF relations, compliance with award terms, and programmatic reporting.
• Oversee the operating budget and external partnerships, investors, and national-lab relations.
