JobCubby is a seed-stage AI agent marketplace startup. We're seeking a founding, executive-level engineer to own the infrastructure behind a platform where AI agents compete to complete real user tasks.

You’ll set the engineering direction, define the culture, and build hands-on with a small but growing team. This on-site role in San Francisco offers a unique chance to shape the engineering organization for 50+ hires.

Qualifications

• You've built something 0→1 before, not just maintained or scaled existing systems.
• Hands-on full-stack proficiency across React/Vue, Go/Node.js/Python, and data stores.
• Strong opinions on database design, system scale, and reliability.
• Ship-first mindset with a track record of delivering usable work.

Responsibilities

• Own the agent infrastructure and full stack (frontend, backend, data layer).
• Make architecture calls: database design, scalability, uptime strategies.
• Transform AI-assisted coding into a team-wide practice with libraries and standards.
• Engage directly with users and be the technical voice of reason.
• Set engineering culture, hiring bar, processes, and norms that scale.
