Recruiting From Scratch is seeking a Staff Engineer in San Francisco to build core infrastructure powering AI agent platforms, scalable data pipelines, and production services. You will own end-to-end technical projects, collaborate with founders, and shape architecture for rapid growth.

The role emphasizes ambiguity, first-principles problem solving, and leadership across a tiny team, with significant ownership over infrastructure and a path toward Series A.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with production systems.
• Experience designing and operating large-scale production systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate core infrastructure for people-data and agent platforms.
• Build production APIs supporting high-volume AI and data workloads.
• Develop LLM-powered workflows and autonomous agent infrastructure.
• Build and maintain large-scale scraping and data collection systems.
• Own technical projects end-to-end from definition to deployment.
