Alden Labs in New York City is seeking a founding engineer to help shape the future of healthcare AI. This in-person, full-time role invites you to own core features like EHR integrations, intelligent workflows, and voice AI infrastructure.

You will move fast, wear many hats across engineering and product, and directly engage with customers as Alden builds scalable health-tech platforms with ambitious product bets.

About the Role

At Alden, we're hiring a full-stack software engineer to help us shape the future of healthcare. You'll be on the front lines of our most ambitious product bets, owning development of core features like EHR integrations, intelligent workflows, and cutting-edge voice AI infrastructure. Your work will unlock major revenue opportunities by enabling Alden to onboard more customers and expand contracts with powerful new use cases.

We're looking for a sharp, high-ownership builder who's experienced in building great products, comfortable with moving fast, and excited to work at the intersection of healthcare and AI.

What You'll Be Working On

• Owning large projects from 0 to 1: You'll be building core pieces of the Alden technology, including defining product requirements, designing systems, building both back-end and front-end, and testing and iterating with customer feedback. Example projects include:

  • Building new use cases that leverage agentic workflow automation and application software, especially to support recruiting, onboarding, and compliance workflows for our customers.

  • Building internal infrastructure for AI voice applications, moving critical functions in-house (inference, transcription, voice, telephony) for scalability.

  • Deploying existing use cases for customers onboarding onto Alden, including building internal tools and integrations with EHRs, HR systems, and communications platforms.

• Establishing and improving engineering processes

• Working closely with the CEO and CTO to define Alden's team culture

What You Bring

• Strong programming skills and proficiency across full-stack web development

  • Tech stack: React (NextJS), Express, PostgreSQL

• Track record of moving quickly and excitement to wear many hats across engineering, product, and working directly with customers

• Curiosity around experimenting with cutting-edge AI technologies, including LLMs and voice AI applications

• Ideally 3+ years of experience as a software engineer

• Compensation: $170K - $200K+ base salary, plus competitive equity grant (flexible for exceptional candidates)
