Job summary

MUSC Health is launching a new Emergency Medicine Residency Program in Florence, SC, seeking an Ultrasound Director (MD/DO) to build and lead the ultrasound component. This founding faculty role emphasizes curriculum creation, training standards, and mentoring the next generation of emergency physicians.

You will shape the program from the ground up, collaborate with residency leadership, and promote POCUS integration across ED practice while living in Florence.

Qualifications

• ABEM/ABOEM board-certified or eligible in Emergency Medicine.
• POCUS proficiency with teaching focus.
• SC medical licensure and CDS registration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee a comprehensive POCUS curriculum.
• Provide bedside teaching, hands-on instruction, and simulation-based training.
• Mentor residents in ultrasound research and scholarly activity.
• Establish ultrasound competency assessments and quality assurance processes.
• Promote integration of POCUS into daily ED practice.
