Job summary

The Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is a one-year, full-time faculty-employment program designed to develop leaders in Emergency Ultrasound. Fellows will perform extensive hands-on scanning, teach in ultrasound labs and during resident rotations, and participate in curriculum development across the COM.

Fellows must be graduates of an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency and be board-certified or board-eligible, with SC medical

Qualifications

Graduate of an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency and board-certified or board-eligible.
South Carolina medical license and hospital credentialing prior to start date.

Responsibilities

Education: attend weekly EUS conference and ultrasound curriculum content; teach in lab and lecture settings; deliver lectures during resident rotations and at Emergency Medicine conference; co-lead curriculum development and organization of student electives in Emergency Ultrasound.
Research: participate in at least one IRB-approved project.
Administration: complete one Quality Assurance project in the Department of Emergency Medicine involving ultrasound.
Provide hands-on clinical care at MUSC EDs; perform 1,000+ ultrasound scans per year across Adult ED, Pediatric ED, or ICU; complete two ultrasound lab shifts per week.
