Job summary

HappyRobot is seeking a data science/product analytics professional to help make data a core part of our product development. You will work with Product, Engineering, and ML teams to measure how model changes and features affect performance, scaling insights from millions of conversations into actionable product roadmaps.

You will design experiments, define metrics, analyze results, and translate findings into clear recommendations for product and ML direction, contributing to a high‑impact

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Data Science, Product Analytics, or a similar quantitative role.
• Strong experience with experimental design, A/B testing, statistics, and causal inference.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience defining and operationalizing product and feature metrics.
• Ability to translate ambiguous product questions into rigorous analyses.
• Strong product instincts and ability to distinguish significance from impact.
• Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, or ML teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and analytical accuracy.
• Founder mindset: ownership, independence, curiosity.

Responsibilities

• Define and track product, feature, and agent-level metrics.
• Design, run, and interpret A/B tests for model changes and product features.
• Measure how agent performance affects client outcomes and efficiency.
• Connect offline evaluations with production performance and real-world impact.
• Conduct deep analyses across conversations, workflows, and usage to identify opportunities.
• Perform root-cause analyses and recommend improvements.
• Build models, simulations, and analytic frameworks to support decisions.
• Collaborate with Engineering to improve instrumentation and data quality.
• Build dashboards and self-serve tools for teams.
