Job summary

FinOps Weekly is seeking a Founding Data Analyst in Boston to build the data foundation, support reporting for product and financial metrics, and develop the Operating Scorecard. You will collaborate with senior leaders and an Analytics Engineer to validate pipelines and metrics while turning messy data into actionable insights.

You will drive AI-powered tooling to streamline workflows and improve efficiency across finance and operations, with broad ownership in a high-impact founding position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field
• 3–5 years of experience in a data/analytics/finance role
• Strong SQL skills
• Python or similar programming language
• Experience turning messy data into reliable insights
• Executive presence for cross-functional discussions with senior leaders
• Genuine curiosity about AI tools and using them to reduce manual work

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the data foundation used across the business
• Support reporting needs for product metrics, client/commercial reporting, and internal financial/operational metrics
• Develop the Operating Scorecard and management dashboards for business visibility
• Partner with the Analytics Engineer to validate pipelines and metric definitions
• Work through messy datasets to produce usable, action-oriented insights
• Build and adopt AI-powered tools and workflows to improve FinOps efficiency
