Job summary

Antares is seeking a hands-on Controller to build and scale the accounting function as we move from R&D to commercial deployment. You will establish financial systems, controls, and processes to support growth, ensure accuracy and compliance, and partner across the organization on budgeting and strategic initiatives.

This leadership role requires strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, experience with audits, and a track record of building finance functions in high-growth environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and industry experience.
• 3+ years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or equivalent leadership role
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience leading monthly close and preparing audited financial statements.
• Experience working with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Strong ERP and accounting systems experience (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar).
• Advanced Excel skills and strong financial systems aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with GAAP-compliant reporting.
• Build and improve accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting processes.
• Prepare financial statements and schedules for management, investors, lenders, and auditors.
• Lead technical accounting matters including revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, fixed assets, leases, accruals, and equity accounting.
• Establish scalable processes across AP, payroll, treasury, purchasing, and expense management.
• Collaborate with auditors, tax advisors, and valuation specialists for audits and compliance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, fundraising, and strategic financial initiatives.
• Develop accounting processes for manufacturing operations, inventory, cost accounting, and government contracting.
• Evaluate ERP systems and automation tools to improve efficiency.
