Job summary

Indiana University of Pennsylvania's College of Osteopathic Medicine seeks an innovative osteopathic physician educator to serve as Founding Chair of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and Osteopathic Principles and Practice (OMM/OPP). This open-rank, tenure-track appointment includes department leadership and administrative responsibilities.

The Chair will report to the Dean’s Office in the COM at IUP. The position will develop, operationalize, deliver, and assess the discipline-specific

Qualifications

• Terminal DO/MD degree; licensure and board certification required.
• Three years academic experience in curricula development at a US osteopathic medical school.
• AOA board certification or C-SPOMM with leadership in medical education preferred.
• Experience in curriculum development and medical education leadership.
• Active seeing patients in practice preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop OMM/OPP curriculum and year-long objectives across the COM.
• Coordinate integration of OMM/OPP into pre-clinical and clinical years.
• Teach in face-to-face classroom and clinical skills settings.
• Engage in research and scholarly activity focused on osteopathic principles.
• Mentor students and advise career development.
• Collaborate with other COM chairs on curriculum planning and assessment.
• Support faculty development and quality improvement initiatives.
