Job summary

IUP’s College of Osteopathic Medicine seeks an innovative osteopathic physician educator to serve as Founding Chair of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and Osteopathic Principles and Practice (OMM/OPP). This open‑rank, tenure‑track role includes department leadership and curriculum development for the 4‑year DO program at IUP in Indiana, PA.

The Chair will develop curricula, direct assessment, and collaborate with fellow Chairs and Associate Deans to ensure integrated, high‑quality osteopathic

Qualifications

• Terminal degree in medicine (DO or MD).
• Active and unrestricted medical licensure with board certification.
• Proven experience in developing curricula for OMM/OPP and related areas.
• Leadership in medical education settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop curricula and objectives for OMM/OPP integration.
• Design longitudinal OMM/OPP content across all 4 years of the COM curriculum.
• Coordinate integration of OMM/OPP into clinical system courses and clerkships.
• Teach in face-to-face classroom and clinical skills settings.
• Engage in research and scholarly activities in osteopathic medicine.
• Advise and mentor students regarding careers in osteopathic medicine.
