Job summary

The D. E. Shaw Group seeks a talented technologist to join the Founder’s Office in New York. This role provides direct technical support to the firm's founder and engages with senior technical staff on a variety of projects in a collaborative environment.

You will work across enterprise technologies, security, and large-scale systems, applying AI tools to accelerate development and automate workflows while delivering practical solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science or another technical discipline.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, C#, PowerShell).
• Extensive knowledge of Windows and/or UNIX environments and systems administration.
• Excellent collaboration, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience with cybersecurity or interest in security controls.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools for software development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and off-site support for the founder and family office.
• Research, test, and evaluate new technology products.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
• Develop custom workflow applications and monitoring tools to automate tasks.
• Implement cybersecurity best practices across supported systems.
• Leverage generative AI to accelerate software development and automate workflows.
• Participate in firmwide technology projects not directly related to the founder.
