Job summary

inquirED is building Inkwell, a connected K–5 Core ELA and social studies curriculum. We seek a Director of Foundational Literacy to own the 0-to-1 instructional design across K–5, establishing its research base, scope, sequence, and lesson architecture, while aligning with broader curriculum goals.

The role requires deep expertise in early literacy, translating science of reading into practical curriculum decisions, and ensuring usability for teachers in real classroom settings.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in early literacy development and the science of reading.
• Ability to design or shape a multi-grade, systematic literacy curriculum.
• Experience leading curriculum design at the program level.

Responsibilities

• Own the 0-to-1 instructional design of Inkwell's foundational literacy strand across K–5.
• Develop scope and sequence, design specifications, and assessment criteria.
• Collaborate with curriculum, editorial, assessment, product, UX/design, and production teams.
