Rippling, Inc. seeks a Director of Foundational Literacy to lead the 0-to-1 design of K-5 foundational literacy within Inkwell. The role shapes the instructional architecture, scope/sequence, and lesson routines, partnering with product and design to ensure rigorous, scalable materials.

You will define assessment criteria, differentiation strategies, and cross-team collaboration to deliver a coherent literacy program across grades.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in early literacy development and science of reading.
• Experience shaping multi-grade, multi-component literacy curricula.
• Ability to translate research into concrete design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own 0-to-1 instructional design of foundational literacy across K-5.
• Develop scope/sequence, lesson architecture, and assessment criteria.
• Lead creation and refinement of lessons, routines, and materials.
• Collaborate with curriculum, editorial, product, and design teams.
• Balance instructional integrity with usability and timeline constraints.
• Guide materials review for quality, sequencing, and coherence.
• Align foundational literacy with broader knowledge-building goals.
