Job summary

Food & Water Watch in Washington, DC is seeking a Director of Foundation Relations to lead national foundation fundraising efforts and build strategic partnerships. You will manage a small team, oversee grant proposals, reports, and budgets, and work across programs to articulate impact to funders.

The role requires 8–10 years of fundraising experience, strong grant-writing skills, and proficiency with CRM systems such as Salesforce NPSP. Remote work available with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• 8 years of fundraising experience in relevant fields.
• 23 years of management or equivalent.
• Proven track record securing six- to seven-figure grants.

Responsibilities

• Lead the foundations fundraising strategy and team.
• Manage a portfolio of foundation donors and prospects to secure $5M+ annually.
• Supervise a Foundations team including a Senior Manager and a Senior Grant Writer.
• Oversee grant materials and ensure timely submissions.
• Coordinate with finance on budgets and funder reports.
• Track grants in Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack.
• Develop moves-management plans and donor communications.
• Represent Food & Water Watch with funders and train staff on best practices.
• Contribute to long-term budget goals and strategic planning.
