Job summary

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) is seeking a Foundation Research & Grants Coordinator in Charlotte, NC. You will research foundation prospects, submit proposals and reports, and monitor program development and evaluation to ensure stewardship of foundation investments.

The role requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent, experience in nonprofit fundraising with emphasis in foundations, and the ability to maintain records in Innkeeper CRM, with strong writing and analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
• Experience in development and nonprofit fundraising preferred with emphasis in foundation grants.
• Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to engage in effective professional relationships, creative writing, and data analysis and alternate between these roles.
• Attentive listening skills.
• Ability to professionally represent Donor Ministries area, speaking confidently and accurately about ministry opportunities at BGEA.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to build and cultivate cross‑department relations.
• Capacity to thoroughly learn and utilize Innkeeper (CRM).
• Ability to set appropriate goals and achieve them with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive research to identify prospective corporate and community foundations aligned with the organization’s mission and strategic priorities.
• Analyze foundation funding interests, giving history, geographic priorities, grant cycles, and application requirements.
• Translate ministry objectives into persuasive, donor‑centered narratives that demonstrate measurable impact.
• Develop outcomes‑based grant proposals that meet the criteria for all categories of foundations.
• Oversee the complete grant lifecycle from opportunity identification through proposal submission, award notification, reporting, and grant closeout.
• Prepare research profiles and strategic recommendations for Director, Strategic Partnerships
• Research new, lapsed, and active corporate foundation units to determine potential granting opportunities
• Develop annual plans and goals for Foundation grant proposals
• Work with the Director, Strategic Partnerships to maintain complete records to include an annual calendar of grant proposal deadlines, reports, and requirements for grant templates
• Develop grant reports on a rolling basis for all of BGEA’s ministry activities throughout the year for general use and specific to a foundation’s grant guidelines
• Record all data related to activities and communications in Innkeeper (CRM)
• Attend training/equipping sessions as scheduled by Donor Ministries leadership
• Research, communicate and implement “best practices” as appropriate to foundation grants management
• Attend fundraising and donor appreciation events across as assigned
• Other duties as assigned
