Job summary

The Carl B. & Florence E. King Foundation seeks an experienced Accounting Manager in Dallas to lead fiscal accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting for a private foundation.

You will coordinate with auditors, investment advisers, and management on policies, cash flow, and compliance. Responsibilities include preparing financial reports, monitoring grants, and ensuring tax filings while maintaining internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA a plus.
• At least five years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards under U.S. GAAP.
• Experience with investments and fair value accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Solomon accounting software.
• Ability to work with Board, auditors, and investment advisers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee receipt, custody, and disbursement of foundation funds.
• Coordinate with auditors, custodial bank, and investment consultants.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports and budgets.
• Ensure tax filings (e.g., 990-PF, 990-T) and regulatory compliance.
• Manage payroll with third-party provider and payroll records.
• Assist with grant-related accounting and reports.
• Maintain internal controls and policies.
