Job summary

Louisiana SPCA in New Orleans is seeking a Foster Coordinator to manage the movement of animals from shelter to foster care and eventual adoption, while delivering exceptional customer service to the community. You will educate the public about humane practices, coordinate with staff and volunteers, monitor animal welfare, and help with intake, surrender, lost and found, and return-to-owner processes.

Qualifications

• Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment substance screening.
• Excellent organizational and collaborative skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work weekends and maintain 24 hr on-call status.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the movement of animals from shelter to foster care to adoption.
• Educate the public regarding humane pet ownership, laws, and available services.
• Work with staff and volunteers to ensure animals are treated humanely and safely.
• Attend training and animal handling classes.
• Maintain confidentiality and support other departments as needed.
