Job summary

United Way of Eastern Idaho seeks an experienced Foster Grandparents Program Director to provide day-to-day leadership and full administrative oversight of the AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent Program.

The Director will coordinate with United Way leadership, AmeriCorps Seniors, volunteer stations, schools, and community partners to ensure program quality, compliance, and meaningful service opportunities across rural Idaho.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business, education, social work, gerontology, public administration, or a related field; equivalent relevant education and experience may be considered.
• Experience with federal grants or AmeriCorps programs is strongly preferred.
• Experience working with older adults/seniors and with schools or other organizations that serve children and youth.

Responsibilities

• Administer and oversee the AmeriCorps Seniors FGP federal grant in accordance with award terms, federal regulations, AmeriCorps Seniors guidance, and United Way policies.
• Prepare, monitor, and manage annual budgets, work plans, expenditures, volunteer stipends, and supporting fiscal documentation in coordination with United Way finance staff.
• Develop strategies to generate and document the program's non-federal match (grants, donations, sponsorships, partner contributions, in-kind resources).
• Prepare and submit grant applications, continuations, amendments, progress reports, performance reports, and other documentation through AmeriCorps systems.
• Maintain audit-ready program, fiscal, personnel, volunteer, and station records; support monitoring visits, audits, and required checks.
• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate all phases of FGP operations with goals, objectives, and performance measures.
• Monitor grant deliverables, enrollment, retention goals, service activity, and community outcomes.
• Collect and analyze program data and feedback to improve quality and outcomes.
• Recruit, screen, orient, enroll, place, supervise, and recognize Foster Grandparent volunteers in partnership with staff.
