Job summary

SAFY of Ohio seeks a full-time Engagement & Licensing Specialist to recruit, license, engage and retain foster parents in Canton and surrounding areas. You will coordinate trainings, manage licensure, and maintain relationships with community partners, while ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in social work or a human services field and 2+ years in engagement work, with strong communication and organizational skills.

• Two years of relevant experience in client and/or community engagement.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) as well as comfort with public speaking and facilitation of groups.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.

• Proven team player with a willingness to help others as needed.
• Resolution focused.
• Strong organizational skills to prioritize workload.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement on-going recruitment activities to attract foster and/or respite parents using diverse tactics.
• Consistently follow up with prospective adults interested in becoming foster parents via phone, email, face-to-face, and mail.
• Act as liaison with community organizations, attending events and meetings to build relationships.
• Coordinate and participate in speaking engagements, exhibits, and recruitment opportunities.
• Manage recruitment budget and monitor competitors’ activities.
• Perform home studies of prospective foster/adoptive parents per SAFY policy and state requirements.
• Organize pre-service training for foster/adoptive parents and arrange presenters and venues.
• Conduct training sessions to meet SAFY policy and state requirements.
• Complete licensing elements within 90 days for each family.
• Maintain timely data entry and case notes in tracking system and submit required reports.
• Establish positive working relationships with SAFY staff, clients, families, and vendors.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Support flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.
