Job summary

Samaritas in Michigan seeks a Foster Care Case Aide to support children in the foster care system. You will work closely with social workers, foster families, and birth families, providing direct support to help create safety, stability, and meaningful connections for the children we serve.

You’ll supervise visits, arrange transportation to appointments, document observations, gather records, and connect families to community resources while supporting program operations.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in human services or related field preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in child welfare or related service environment preferred.
• Strong observation, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to engage with children and families professionally and compassionately.
• Organized, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced, people-centered role.

Responsibilities

• Supervise visits and appointments between children, foster parents, and birth families in homes, offices, and community settings.
• Provide transportation for foster children to medical appointments, family visits, and other services.
• Observe interactions and document visits in accordance with agency policies.
• Share observations and updates with assigned social workers to support case planning.
• Assist with gathering important records (court reports, school records, medical information) as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of community resources and help connect families to services.
• Support foster care program operations in alignment with organizational and contractual requirements.
