Samaritas is seeking a Foster Care Case Manager for the Southeast Michigan area. You will manage your own caseload, advocate for youth, and collaborate with families, caregivers, and community partners to secure safe, stable placements.

The role emphasizes documentation, court involvement, and timely communication with stakeholders. A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field is required, with Michigan licensure preferred and at least one year in child welfare preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field required.
• State of Michigan licensure preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in child welfare preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing a dynamic caseload.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of foster care cases, providing ongoing support and advocacy.
• Build relationships with children, caregivers, and families to support stability and well-being.
• Offer guidance, referrals, and mentoring to those involved in each case.
• Coordinate initial placements and any necessary changes in placement.
• Prepare for and attend court hearings, providing updates and documentation.
• Support children and caregivers through transitions with hands-on involvement.
• Partner with referral sources, courts, agencies, and community organizations.
• Maintain consistent communication with all stakeholders involved in each case.
• Advocate for appropriate services and support systems.
• Maintain accurate and timely case records, reports, and required documentation.
• Track client progress and ensure compliance with all program and regulatory standards.
