Job summary

Children’s Hope Alliance seeks a Foster Care Recruiter & Trainer to recruit, train, and support foster families in North Carolina. You will build partnerships with DSS, provide ongoing education, and guide families through licensing steps to ensure safe placements.

Responsibilities include leading recruitment, conducting pre-service training, in-home visits, and coordinating with clinical teams to support placements and long-term success for youth in care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field is required.
• Certification in state-mandated foster parent training curriculum or ability to gain certification.
• Experience with Teaching-Family Model is preferred.
• Experience recruiting or training foster parents is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead foster parent recruitment in your region.
• Develop partnerships with DSS offices, mental health providers, and community organizations.
• Represent Children’s Hope Alliance at community events and outreach opportunities.
• Facilitate pre-service training using the Teaching-Family Model.
• Guide families through licensing requirements with confidence and clarity.
• Provide ongoing education, including CPR/First Aid, MAR, and model-based training.
• Walk families through each step of becoming licensed and conduct in-home visits.
• Assess readiness for fostering and ensure compliance with licensing regulations.
• Collect and review documentation for submission.
• Evaluate youth needs and match them with suitable foster homes.
• Participate in staffing and clinical discussions to support placements.
• Maintain consistent communication with prospective and licensed families.
• Facilitate monthly training sessions and support groups.
