Job summary

Bethany Christian Services in Michigan seeks a seasoned Foster Care Program Director to lead a diverse team, ensure licensing compliance, and drive quality outcomes for children and families. You will partner with the Branch Director to shape program strategy, oversee staff development, and monitor budgets and performance metrics.

The role requires a master’s degree in a related field, 5+ years of leadership experience in foster care or child welfare, and strong communication skills to engage

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, or a related field.
• Minimum three years in a supervisory role with direct reports.
• Five+ years in foster care or child welfare preferred in Michigan with relevant licenses.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of state licensing, COA standards, and program compliance.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and drive quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Direct and lead program management staff, including managers and supervisors.
• Provide strategic direction and ensure licensing, accreditation, and COA standards.
• Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives for foster care services.
• Oversee recruitment, training, and performance evaluations of staff.
• Monitor budgets, revenue, and expenditure; prepare annual service unit budget.
• Represent Bethany in meetings with counties, state agencies, and partners.
