Job summary

4Kids4Families is seeking a Permanency Specialist to assess needs, plan for permanency, and coordinate with families and stakeholders to secure stable, loving homes for children in foster care.

You will collaborate with foster parents, social workers, therapists, educators, and healthcare professionals to build a comprehensive support network and ensure timely court participation where needed.

Qualifications

• Associate6s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field and 1-2 years of work-related experience required.
• Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in child welfare.

Responsibilities

• Meet the individual needs of children in foster care and assist caregivers to provide a stable home.
• Work in emotion-filled environments and may conduct home visits in high crime or substandard areas.
• Advocate for the best interests of children, coordinating with legal and court systems.
• Collaborate with social workers, therapists, educators, and healthcare professionals to create a support network.
• Provide crisis intervention and support services to maintain placement stability.
• Maintain detailed case records in compliance with agency policies and legal requirements.
• Provide 24-hour on-call support and crisis intervention when required.
• Provide training on adoption preparation for children and families.
• Discuss issues of separation and loss for child, family and caregivers.
• Travel and attend visits after 5PM and on-call rotating hours.
• Demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity with diverse backgrounds.
• Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations and company policies.
• May drive vehicles and complete company vehicle training.

Education
