Job summary

Arrow-Child- in Longview, TX seeks a Permanency Specialist to assess and plan for permanency, coordinating with families and stakeholders to ensure child well-being and stability in foster care.

You will advocate for children, conduct home visits, attend court hearings as needed, and maintain precise records in accordance with laws and agency policies, with on-call and after-hours responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and 1-2 years work-related experience required.
• Experience in child welfare, foster care, or adoption services is a plus.
• Knowledge of laws and best practices in child welfare.

Responsibilities

• Meet the individual needs of children in foster care and assist caregivers to provide a stable and loving home for children.
• Work in an emotion-filled environment, including home visits in isolated or high crime areas and exposure to substandard living conditions.
• Advocate for the best interests of children in foster care, coordinating with legal and court systems and preparing documentation for hearings.
• Collaborate with social workers, therapists, educators, and healthcare professionals to create a support network for each child.
• Provide crisis intervention and support services to maintain placement stability.
• Maintain detailed case records in compliance with agency policies and legal requirements.
• Provide 24-hour on-call support and crisis intervention when required.
• Provide training on adoption preparation processes and practices.
• Discuss separation and loss issues for child, family, and caregivers.
• Travel to visits and meetings after 5PM and be on-call rotating hours as needed.
• Demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity with diverse families.
• Perform duties within contractual, state, federal regulations, and company standards.
• May be required to drive vehicles and complete company vehicle training.
