Job summary

Partnership-For-Strong-Families-Inc in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Caregiver Support Specialist to manage relicensing, licensing activities, and ongoing caregiver support for licensed foster homes.

You will conduct home studies, family assessments, interviews, and licensing actions, monitor compliance through visits and calls, and coordinate with case management, legal, education, medical, and community partners to support placement stability and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or closely related field.
• Master’s degree in psychology or social work preferred.
• Two years of relevant experience in child welfare preferred.
• Must obtain certification as a Child Welfare Professional and Licensing certification within twelve (12) months of appointment.
• Valid State of Florida driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct foster home studies, family assessments, interviews, and licensing activities.
• Monitor licensed foster homes through quarterly home visits and monthly contacts to ensure compliance.
• Serve as primary contact for assigned foster families, providing ongoing support and advocacy.
• Assess caregiver needs and address barriers to successful placements and family functioning.
• Provide crisis intervention, problem-solving, emotional support, and referrals.
• Educate and prepare foster parents on licensing requirements, trauma-informed care, and best practices.
• Collaborate with case management, placement, licensing, legal, educational, medical, and community stakeholders.
• Support placement transitions, reunification, and permanency planning; participate in required meetings.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reports related to licensing and foster care operations.
