Job summary

The City and County of Denver's Denver Human Services is seeking a dedicated Lead Social Case Worker to join the Placement Services team. You will supervise and mentor a team of social case workers, handle high‑level cases, and help set unit goals while delivering intensive case management and counseling.

Hybrid work is supported within Colorado; a valid driver's license and child welfare certification are required.

Qualifications

• Education requirement per CDHS regulations.
• Three (3) years of post‑graduation professional social case work experience at the level of Social Case Worker.
• Valid Driver’s License required; social case worker certification in Child Welfare or Adult Protective Services.

Responsibilities

• Assess high‑risk level assessments and ongoing cases.
• Coach, train, and mentor staff at various levels of experience.
• Demonstrate critical decision‑making with staff and in the unit.
• Assist Supervisors and perform supervisory roles in their absence.
• Demonstrate competencies in intake assessments, ongoing cases, and youth cases.
• Lead by example and set a precedent for Social Case Workers.
• Attend voices meetings and court hearings with Social Case Workers when needed.
