Job summary

Seamen’s Society for Children and Families in New York seeks a Supervisor for the Enhanced Family Foster Care unit. You will provide social work guidance, supervise a Parent Advocate and four Case Planners, and coordinate services to families.

You’ll schedule meetings, review permanency plans, ensure timely case notes and reports, and participate in QA/QI and staff evaluations. Travel between Staten Island and Brooklyn sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • MSW or related degree with supervisory experience in child welfare.
  • LMSW preferred.
  • Work hours may vary based on program needs.
  • Ability to travel between Staten Island and Brooklyn sites.

Responsibilities

  • Provides weekly supervision to a core team of four Case Planners and one Parent Advocate.
  • Facilitates goal-oriented Family Case Plans with input from family members and staff.
  • Manages staff work hours and schedules, ensuring PTO and remote work coverage.
  • Reviews family permanency plans focusing on safe, timely reunifications.
  • Prepares staff for family court proceedings and other externally driven meetings.
  • Schedules and holds Family Team and other conferences.
  • Conducts timely staff evaluations focused on continual development.
