Job summary

D.A. Blodgett - St. John's is seeking a Foster Care Case Manager to support children and families in the Grand Rapids area.

You will work with children, parents, and caregivers to ensure safety, stability, and progress toward permanency within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. The role requires compassionate service, strong organizational skills, and the ability to make independent decisions while maintaining regular supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or closely related Human Services field; Master’s degree is a bonus.
• Positive acceptance of supervision to learn and be trained in case management, assessment and treatment skills.
• Commitment to providing excellent child welfare services.
• Child welfare experience is a plus.
• Experience or training in working with children or adults within individual and family counseling, interviewing, family assessment and crisis intervention.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record and adequate insurance.
• Understanding of cultural and socioeconomic characteristics with warmth and ability to establish relationships.

Responsibilities

• Commitment to learn and comply with MDHHS foster care policies and procedures.
• Timely completion of computer-based and paperwork reporting.
• Caseload of 13 children to manage.
• Cooperate with licensing, medical and adoption personnel and partner agencies.
• Coordinate and monitor community resources available to clients.
• Attend agency and team meetings, case conferences and training.
• Develop and implement service plans and parent-agency agreements.
• Participate in required case-related activities such as court hearings and Family Team Meetings.
• Possess flexibility for on-call nights and weekends to meet family needs.
