Job summary

Child Saving Institute in Omaha, NE seeks a Foster Care Specialist to provide direct support, case management, and community-based services to foster families and children.

The role involves home, school, and community visits, coordination with agencies, and crisis intervention, with travel across state lines as needed.

A Bachelor's degree in social work or related field is required; one year of Human Services experience is preferred; evenings/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field is required (lived experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
• Minimum of 1 year experience in Human Services or foster care preferred.
• Must be 21+ years old and able to travel between multiple states.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support, case management, and community-based services to foster families and children.
• Conduct regular home visits to monitor placement stability and safety.
• Complete case notes, service plans, and home visit reports per agency policy.
• Coordinate with case managers, courts, families, schools, and providers to support permanency planning.
• Assist families in accessing training, respite, and community resources; build informal support systems.
• Travel across program sites and states to provide coverage and support as needed.
