Job summary

Child Saving Institute seeks a Foster Care Specialist to provide direct support, case management, and community-based services for foster families and children. The role includes home, school, and community-based work across multiple CSI programs in Iowa, Nebraska, and other states as needed.

The Specialist will monitor placement stability, coordinate services, complete documentation, and advocate for permanency planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field.
• One year of Human Services or foster care experience preferred.
• Ability to travel regularly between multiple states as program needs require.
• Knowledge of foster care licensing/regulatory requirements appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Provide home-, school-, and community-based support to foster families and children.
• Conduct regular home visits to monitor placement stability and wellbeing.
• Complete case notes, service plans, and home visit reports per agency protocol.
• Coordinate with case managers, courts, families, schools and service providers for permanency planning.
• Assist foster families in accessing training, respite, and community resources; build informal support.
• Participate in team meetings, court hearings, and permanency planning meetings as needed.
• Travel across program sites and states to provide coverage and support to CSI programs.
• Respond to placement disruptions or crises with crisis intervention and stabilization support.
