Job summary

Aspiranet is seeking a Foster Care Program Director to lead foster care and adoption services in the Bakersfield, CA area. This senior role oversees licensing compliance, fiscal oversight, and staff recruitment, training, and retention to ensure high-quality services for children and families.

The position is on-site in Bakersfield with a full-time schedule. The role requires strong leadership, program management, and partnerships with external agencies to promote best practices in child welfare.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of prior supervisory experience.
• Three years of full-time social work or casework in family or child welfare, or two years in a foster/adoption agency.
• Must pass state-m mandated background checks and health clearances (fingerprints, TB test, clean driving record).

Responsibilities

• Monitor adherence to agency, state, and funder standards.
• Oversee Best Practice and Quality Assurance, including data tracking and outcome measurement.
• Participate in internal audits and quality improvements.
• Operate program within budgetary limits.
• Coordinate onboarding and training of new staff.
• Maintain communication with external partners and referral sources.
• Lead staff development and performance evaluations.
• Foster a trauma-informed, collaborative culture.
