Job summary

Vannevar is hiring a forward-deployed Mission Strategist to embed with the Navy's unmanned surface vessel community in Norfolk. This on-site role requires weekly presence with operators and mission planners, with potential relocation or travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with unmanned surface vessels or related systems.
• Ability to decompose ambiguous operational problems into software needs.
• Willingness to travel to Norfolk weekly and work on-site.
• Security clearance eligibility or TS/SCI considered but not required.

Responsibilities

• Embed with USV operators and mission planners on-site in Norfolk.
• Distill and prioritize mission problems observed on the ground.
• Configure high-value workflows and validate against real mission tasks.
• Debug and troubleshoot releases on deployed government systems.
• Generate mission wins and drive impactful capabilities for Navy partners.
• Operate independently on-site, prioritizing work to maximize mission impact.
