Job summary

Vannevar, a defense tech company, seeks an experienced Mission Lead to own Navy engagements, shape pilots, and translate strategic objectives into funded programs. You will operate with autonomy in ambiguous environments, coordinating across Product, Engineering, Mission, Security, and Operations to deliver and scale.

This role is based in San Diego with required travel; U.S. Persons with current Top Secret clearance preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supporting Navy/DoD or national security programs.
• Experience engaging with Navy program offices, SYSCOMs, warfare centers or commands.
• Strong technical intuition and ability to engage with engineers and senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with Navy stakeholders and program offices.
• Identify mission opportunities by understanding capability gaps and priorities.
• Lead customer-facing engagements including mission discovery and demonstrations.
• Drive pilot execution, adoption, and transition to funded programs.
• Translate operational needs into actionable technical solutions for product teams.
• Collaborate with government managers, engineers, and acquisition professionals.
