Job summary

The Bitcoin Street Journal is seeking a Forward-Deployed Engineer to act as the technical partner to its Business Development team in New York. This hands-on role blends engineering, trading, and commercial strategy to identify opportunities and rapidly deliver revenue-generating solutions.

You will work on DeFi primitives, build MVPs, and collaborate across engineering, trading, and external stakeholders to move ideas from concept to scale.

Qualifications

• Background as a DeFi engineer, technical trader, DeFi founder, or hands-on crypto builder.
• Proven ability to build and ship quickly with autonomy.
• Hands-on with DeFi primitives: bridging, liquidations, lending, RWAs, AMMs, on-chain infra.
• Strong proficiency in Solidity, Python, and TypeScript/Node.js.
• Excellent communication across engineering, trading, business development, and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on builder with experience across DeFi and digital assets, strong trading awareness, and the ability to move quickly in fast-paced environments where ownership and execution matter.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate emerging DeFi and trading opportunities, assessing technical feasibility, risk, market dynamics, and potential P&L.
• Build and deploy solutions including bridging infrastructure, liquidation bots, RWA minting/redemption workflows, and AMM liquidity strategies.

Requirements

• Background as a DeFi engineer, technical trader, DeFi founder, or similarly hands-on crypto builder with an understanding of liquidity, market structure, execution, and P&L.
• Proven ability to build and ship quickly, turning loosely defined ideas into working products while operating with a high degree of autonomy.
• Hands-on experience with DeFi primitives such as bridging, liquidations, lending protocols, RWAs, AMMs, smart contract integrations, and on-chain infrastructure.
• Strong proficiency in Solidity, Python, and TypeScript/Node.js, including smart contract interactions, protocol integrations, automation, data analysis, and application development.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across engineering, trading, business development, and external stakeholders.

Additional Qualifications

• Experience working with blockchain networks, smart contracts, decentralized applications, and Web3 infrastructure.
• Familiarity with DeFi ecosystems and applications, including trading, lending, liquidity, staking, tokenization, or related financial products.
• Exposure to blockchain development frameworks, analytics platforms, data tools, and infrastructure commonly used across digital asset environments.
• Experience building automation, integrations, monitoring systems, analytics solutions, or operational tooling for crypto, fintech, or trading-related applications.
• Interest in emerging areas of digital assets, including institutional adoption, tokenized assets, cross-chain ecosystems, market infrastructure, and on-chain financial services.
