Job summary

scalr in San Francisco is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer with true product ownership. You will work directly with customers, write production code, design systems, and ship real technology that drives revenue while learning what the product needs next.

You will spend significant time with customers, turning vague requirements into deployed solutions, and feeding insights back into the product direction for lasting impact. Equity is meaningful and a Series A milestone is anticipated.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant post college experience.
• Strong CS or software engineering background.
• Proficient in Python and TypeScript.
• Real curiosity about applying AI to commercial problems.
• Strong user empathy and ability to earn trust with executives, operators, and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy agentic systems, integrations, and automations that solve real revenue problems.
• Partner directly with go to market leaders, operators, and end users to understand how they actually work.
• Turn messy, undefined customer requirements into deployed systems with measurable impact.
• Feed what you learn on the ground back into core product direction, not just the services layer.
• Own outcomes end to end, from first conversation through deployment and adoption.

Growing team, confidential for now, backed by top tier VCs, building agentic AI systems that sit inside how companies actually generate revenue rather than alongside it.

Forward Deployed Engineer, but with genuine product ownership. You won't just be implementing against a fixed spec, you'll be working directly with the customers using the product and feeding what you learn back into what gets built. You'll write production code, design systems, and ship real technology, while spending enough time inside customer environments to understand where the product actually needs to go next.

What you'll do:

• Build and deploy agentic systems, integrations, and automations that solve real revenue problems

What we're looking for:

• AI native working style, using AI tools daily to build, analyze, and move fast
• Comfortable working on site five days a week and spending significant time with customers
