Job summary

HartleyCo is hiring Forward Deployed Engineers in New York City. You will own architecture, implementation, deployment and client relationships, delivering production-grade AI solutions for Fortune 500 clients.

Expect hands-on work across backend, frontend, data and infrastructure, with opportunities to lead client engagements and rapidly progress to broader systems and leadership roles.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong product engineering and system design fundamentals.
• Experience shipping production software end to end.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Ability to work across multiple technical layers.
• Clear communication and the confidence to work directly with customers.
• Regular use of Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or similar tools.
• High agency, urgency and a desire to bet on your own performance.

I’m partnering with a profitable, bootstrapped AI company that is doubling its team after winning major enterprise engagements, including work secured in direct competition with Palantir and global consultancies.

They are now hiring Forward Deployed Engineers to turn complex AI opportunities into production systems.

This is not a solutions role with occasional coding.

You will own the architecture, implementation, deployment and client relationship. One engagement might involve building an agent inside a 15-year-old insurance platform. The next could involve deploying an AI workflow across multiple hospitals.

The standard is simple: it must ship, scale and create a measurable outcome.
