Key Talent Solutions is seeking a Forward-Deployed AI Engineer for a fast-growing AI company building agent monitoring and evaluation infrastructure. You will embed the platform directly into customers' production systems and diagnose real-world failures.

The role is heavily customer-facing, requiring you to work inside customer codebases, own engagements end-to-end, and communicate clearly with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of software engineering experience, shipping features end-to-end inside real codebases.
• Some applied-AI exposure; comfortable deploying AI or LLM-based systems into production.
• Strong customer-facing communication: explain complex concepts clearly and build trust.
• Ability to translate ambiguous customer goals into concrete technical solutions.

• Based in SF or willing to relocate; in-person five days.

Job description

A fast-growing AI company building agent monitoring and evaluation infrastructure is hiring a Forward-Deployed AI Engineer to embed their platform directly into customers' production systems.

You'll work inside customer codebases, integrate monitoring and evaluation into live agent workflows, diagnose failures in real environments, and drive deployments through to reliable production use.

This is a deep technical execution and customer-ownership role. The work is demanding enough that the team prioritises strong software engineers who can flex into a forward-deployed seat over people from a purely solutions background. You'll reason about agent behaviour alongside customer teams, translate high-level goals into concrete deployments, and own outcomes end-to-end. The scope, judgment and autonomy mirror what it takes to found or lead a technical company which is the point.

The seat is heavily customer-facing. Communicating clearly, building trust with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and driving long-term adoption matter as much as engineering depth.

What we're looking for

• Strong customer-facing communication: explaining complex concepts clearly and building trust across technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to translate ambiguous customer goals into concrete technical solutions

• An eye on becoming a technical founder yourself one day

Nice to have

• Engineering pedigree from a strong product company; top-tier infra background a bonus
• Prior agent, evals, observability or behaviour-monitoring product experience

Early-stage / 0-to-1 startup experience or a founder background

Full-stack comfort with backend/infra weight

Compensation

• $200K–$300K depending on level, plus meaningful equity; exceptional AI-savvy candidates considered above band
