Stello Agents is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join our AI transformation team. You will write production software and work directly with clients to understand their business and design, build, test, and deploy AI agents that change it.
You’ll collaborate with a Deployment Strategist, owning the technical delivery from architecture to production reliability, and you may travel to client sites as needed while working remotely in the United States.
Stello is an AI transformation firm. We work with mid-market and enterprise companies. We find the repetitive work that costs them the most, and we build AI agents to do it. Our agents work in sales, operations, and customer support, inside the tools our clients already use.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you write production software and you work directly with clients. You learn how a client’s business works. Then you design, build, test, and deploy the AI agents that change it.
You work with a Deployment Strategist. The strategist owns the business requirements and adoption. You own the technical delivery, from architecture to performance in production.
Learn the client’s workflows, systems, and data.
Agree on scope, priorities, and acceptance criteria with your Deployment Strategist.
Design the architecture, and decide what to build and what to buy.
Write and review production code. Build integrations, AI agents, and workflows.
Build evaluations, tests, and monitoring so the agents work reliably.
Explain technical options and tradeoffs directly to the client.
Deploy, fix, and improve the software after launch.
An agent that qualifies inbound leads and books meetings in the sales team’s calendar and CRM.
An agent that reads intake documents, enters the data into the client’s system, and sends exceptions to a person.
A support agent that resolves common tickets and gives difficult tickets to a person with the full context.
2+ years of experience building production software that people depended on.
You supported your software after launch.
Good judgment about architecture, testing, and reliability.
You have built with LLMs, and you can explain how you measured and improved their output.
You use coding agents every day, and you review their output carefully.
You are comfortable with clients. You ask good questions and explain your decisions clearly.
You own your delivery, and you tell people early when a plan must change.
This is a remote role, open in the United States. You may travel to client sites.
