Job summary

Certus Recruitment Group is seeking a Mid-Level Forward Deployed Engineer to support mission-critical Army Vantage capabilities in secure government environments. The role focuses on building analytical applications, supporting deployment pipelines, and delivering production-ready features with Palantir Foundry.

You will work with senior engineers and government users across design, sprint planning, deployment, and ongoing enhancement, within a fast-moving, agile setting.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of software engineering experience in cloud/data or platform environments.
• Hands-on Palantir Foundry experience (Workshop/Slate, Ontology, pipelines).
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript or Java.
• Ability to design, test, and deploy production-ready features independently.

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver analytical dashboards using Palantir Foundry Workshop/Slate.
• Support CI/CD activities: build automation, tests, deployment workflows, environment promotion.
• Define metrics and transformations aligned to Foundry Ontology structures.
• Collaborate on clean, reliable production code across front-end and data workflows.
• Participate in sprint planning, standups, reviews, and stakeholder demos.
• Assist testing, validation, troubleshooting, and platform enhancements.
• Create technical docs, runbooks, and sprint artifacts.
• Work with senior engineers to resolve integration blockers.

Our client is looking for a Mid-Level Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to support the development and delivery of mission-critical Army Vantage capabilities within highly secure government and defense environments.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building analytical applications, supporting deployment pipelines, and delivering production-ready functionality within Palantir Foundry. Working alongside senior engineers, technical stakeholders, and government users, the successful candidate will contribute across the full feature lifecycle - from design and sprint planning through to deployment and ongoing enhancement.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

• Build and deliver analytical dashboard functionality using Palantir Foundry's Workshop/Slate application layer
• Support CI/CD pipeline activities, including build automation, testing, deployment workflows, and environment promotion
• Implement metric definitions and data transformations aligned to Foundry Ontology structures
• Contribute clean, reliable, production-ready code across front-end and data-driven workflows
• Participate in sprint planning, standups, sprint reviews, and stakeholder demonstrations
• Support testing, validation, troubleshooting, and incremental platform enhancements
• Produce clear technical documentation, operational runbooks, and sprint artifacts
• Collaborate closely with senior engineers to resolve integration challenges and delivery blockers

Experience Required

Applicants should have:

• Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry, including Workshop/Slate, Ontology, and pipeline development
• 1-3+ years of software engineering experience within cloud, data, or platform engineering environments
• Experience with Python, TypeScript, or Java
• The ability to independently build, test, and deploy production-ready features
• Experience operating within agile delivery teams and sprint-based environments
• Previous experience within government, defense, or classified environments would be highly advantageous
• Hold an Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance, or have to ability to obtain one.
